Huge business empires like Tata, Reliance and Infosys etc all began with a good idea and lots of hard work. All these companies found a suitable platform to perform and monitory support. But it often happens that common people with that idea of substance and potential to work hard do not make it big. This is where YEDI steps in.

We indentify and incubate budding entrepreneurs all over the country mainly focusing on places which are less accessible to resources. We help remove hindrances so that successful ventures can be built which make the country and so the world as a whole grows. We in YEDI believe that a congenial environment for entrepreneurship in the country is the only permanent solution that ensures a constant double digit growth, the country dreams of today, and that which can make our growth independent of state of economy in the rest of the world.

 

YEDI hopes to instil a passion for entrepreneurship as a career choice to students, as they are the generations, fresh with ideas and vibrant in thoughts. Our country is among the lowest when it comes to college entrepreneurs although the system has lots of bright minds hidden. The reason has always pointed towards the mindset of the students lacking courage and the competitive edge to go for the kill.

Through YEDI we would do our best to change the negative mindset set in a convinced way.

YEDI is proud to have an enthusiastic and dedicated team consisting of faculty, alumni, successful entrepreneurs and most importantly, students of IIT Madras infused with the conscientiousness of boosting entrepreneurship in India. YEDI is organized by Btechguru.com, one among the commendable ventures started by IIT Madras students and supported by C-TIDES.

YEDI is reaching out to all the engineering and science students in higher education across the country. We are targeting 3 million students from around 4000 colleges in the country with a four step intensive program for entrepreneurship.

STAGE 1: Entrepreneurship Awareness This is done in two steps: - Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps (EACs): This deals with basic knowledge of what entrepreneurship is. - Entrepreneurship lecture series: Conducted by some very good experts in the field which gives a deeper insight to students.

STAGE 2: Entrepreneurship Skill Development All the motivated students in entrepreneurship should be equipped with the necessary skills for building a successful enterprise. As part of this, students will be trained on some basic skills of entrepreneurship like business planning, business networking, etc. Some of the topics worked on during this stage are: • What makes a business/company succesful? • Opportunity Sensing (what’s that!!) • Creativity & Innovation • Business Planning (Covering Marketing, Finance, Operations and HR) • Building a Successful Business Model • Market Entry Strategies • How to start a SSI unit (General concept about the Govt. formalities, rules & regulation, location, and different aspect of an industrial venture.) and so on..

STAGE 3: National Level Business Plan Competition A contest spread over 3 months to ensure that participants get ample time in each phase to shape and refine their proposals to perfection.

STAGE 4: Incubation There are many business incubation centres in the country. The best business plans will be ensured assistance in all the possible ways. These projects will be incubated in the incubation space in these incubation centres.
